Matiangi is said to be undecided on which side to join after realizing that his chance of actually winning the Presidency is not as good as he had initially thought.

Women leaders have threatened to hold protests near Gachagua's home in Wamunyoro asking him to respect women elected leaders led by Kirinyaga Governor Ann Waiguru.
